Learning How to Properly Make a Winter Survival Kit

One of the things the team at Metro Honda likes to do from time to time is pass along information to make driving safer. Today we wanted to share some tips on how to pack a winter survival kit for your vehicle.

One of the most important things needed in your kit is a blanket. If your vehicle becomes disabled in the cold and you can't run the heat, hypothermia is a real threat. A heavy blanket can keep passengers warm until help arrives. No telling how long you could be stranded, so some non-perishable food in your kit can go a long way. Pack some granola bars, crackers, cookies, and even a jar of peanut butter.

Bring an assortment of tools so you can make small repairs quickly, or enough to get the vehicle to limp to a service station. Duct tape is a great item that can be used in many repairs.
